ivy and james's baby shower!!!

friday was the date for ivy nownotsmith and james's baby shower!  their baby boy is due in october and we don't know when she's going to go on maternity leave, so we decided a late august baby shower was in order!

here are all the pics that came out well.  i probably deleted half of them, but i still came away with quite a few good shots!!

they looked a little scared and apprehensive about what might be in prezzies.  don't worry!  we were nice!!

no one had met james before and i'm so sure we all gave him a great first impression.  really...we're sane!

they got quite a few handmade presents.  a baby afghan from julie and spring and a stuffed cat and baby changing mat from me:

nicole and i had been planning for MONTHS to get her a framed pic of a squirrel in underpants for the baby's room.  i think it will look just delightful :)

it was a good baby shower.  their baby is going to be adorable and i can't wait to meet him.  i'm going to totally miss ivy at work and will cry when she leaves...

but in the meantime,

hwy 101...

so my mom and i went on vacation down hwy 101 through washington, oregon and part of california in july.  i took 12 rolls of film and just got the developed film back and am starting my scanning.

rocking chair...

the Alzheimer's auction is coming up at work for the alzheimer's association.  i found a smaller rocking chair at goodwill that seemed like a good thing to cover with cheese stickers and donate for the silent auction.  last year i donated 2 bags and they both sold, so hopefully someone will want the chair.  i'm really looking forward to seeing how much it sells for if it sells.  i have absolutely no idea what something like this would sell for, so it will be good to get some kind of idea.

it's a smaller rocking chair, not really small child sized, but a little bigger:

so i went through a ton of cheese stickers, organizing them (because they are everywhere, in no order...so annoying) to find what colors i had enough of to cover the chair.  i wanted really contrasting colors.  i ended up on red stickers from one company along with two different shades of gold from the another company.  and a super cute large sticker for the middle of the seat!

making stickers go around curved edges is super fun.  there's lots of slicing and sticking...

i could have sworn i took more pics of my working on the chair, but i guess not.  but you get the idea...

i really hope it sells and it brings a good price for the alzheimer's association.  along those same lines, i'm participating the 2011 Walk to End Alzheimer's in september.  here is the link to my donation page if you would like to donate any moolah for the walk.  i only need to raise $100, so please help out if you can!!

happy birthday ben! (last year....)

6/27/10, ben davis's 3rd birthday.  i was there.  it was fun.  i just scanned the pics today.  more than a year later.      really sorry it took me so long, josh and janet!  i didn't even get the film developed until 5/15/11.  such a slacker. 

anyway...ben is a cute kid, running around and doing kid things.  i took some shots of him winter of 2010 when we all got together over at josh and janets and he was killing it on the beatles rock band.  he was one with the mic.  

so here are the shots from his bday party!!

for some reason, i didn't make it to this years party.  even though it was only a couple of months ago, i cannot remember why i couldn't go.  huh...NEXT YEAR!!

mojo's 10th anniversary, part two!

a couple of months ago morgan and joseph had their 10th anniversary party.  i put up a previous blog post about their party with my digital pics.  now that my scanner is working like a dream, here's my shots from my kowa six that i took.

christmas in july...

i finally got my scanner working well (first time since i've owned the damn thing) so i scanned in the photos from christmas last year.  maya was at her mom's for christmas and morgan was in portland, so joseph, the ging, alistair and i all went over to joseph and morgans.  it was a great day.  i'm so glad that the pics came out well.  

all taken with my kowa six medium format camera. 

now i have 5 more rolls of film to scan and then get all 10 rolls from vacation developed and scanned.  i will not be bored...
