foodie pen pals!

september was my first month in participating in foodie pen pals!  it was super fun and i'm really excited to taste my treats this month.

the girl who got me is jessie from hawaii!  i was so excited when she emailed me and asked what my food preferences were and said that i was getting treats from hawaii.  someday i will make it to hawaii!

here's what i received!:

chocolate coconut macadamia pancake mix, dark hawaiian coffee, nummy looking popcorn topping, granola, hawaiin bbq, chocolate macadamia treats and three cute pouches of different kinds of roasted macadamias.

i'm really looking forward to the weekend and breaking into the coffee and pancake mix.

thanks so much jessie for your super foodie package!!!  it was great to come home and have your package waiting for me!  i hope that your first month was as good as mine!

bill's in town!

bill and isabelle are in town visiting from georgia (it's warm there!!) so thanks to the wonders of facebook a bunch of people got together at snappy dragon for dinner.  i miss bill. it was super good to see him!

did you know that there is parking behind snappy dragon.  i had no idea. alistair let me in on the secret.

hadley took the ferry over and showed up for din din!!  HEY DUDE!!

she brought her dogs, oscar and hazel.  she's only had hazel a couple of weeks and she is a CUTE GIRL!!

as usual i managed to take no pics of people but made sure to take shots of the food:

snappy dragon is awesome.  the handmade noodles are the shit.  just go eat there.

i'm so lame...

it's inevitable...if i go to some kind of social function, i will take pictures of the food and nothing else.  i'm always happy when i actually take shots of something other than the food.  yet today was not the exception.  it was paul and kimberly's baby shower at work this afternoon and all i did was take shots of the treats:

these cake balls were DELICIOUS!  except jane and i made schweddy ball jokes ALL DAY!  it was especially bad when i was sitting next to her in our friday morning meeting.  no more sitting by jane in friday meetings at work.  i get the giggles too bad.

oh, and this guy sat behind me at the baby shower and kicked my chair THE WHOLE FUCKING TIME:

so i took off his shoe and threw it.  note to self: also do not sit next to andrew at anything.  get giggles so bad i cry a little trying to hold them in.

but kimberly looked beautiful and paul looked like the happy papa he's going to be.  it's really too bad i didn't take any pictures of them or ANYTHING else except the food and andrew.

busy day...

saturday was a busy day.  i ate a lot of food and finished abby and paul's new baby bag.  this is the 3rd baby bag i've made for them.  i'm glad they like them so much.  this one came out really cute:

and as usual, lots of interior pockets.  i'm glad i had enough of this fabric left over from maya's christmas present.  i made her a duvet cover for her new comforter from two sheets.  it came out really well and the leftover fabric made great interior fabric for this bag!

then there was the ridiculous amount of food i ate all day.  first i made myself a dutch baby pancake for breakfast.  i'll make a whole post on those sometime.  then i made egg salad sannies for me and maya for lunchie-poo.  then for dinner i made sweet and sour tofu.  this was my 2nd time making it and it came out waaaay better than the first time.

first i cooked up the tofu (i really love deep fried food mmmmmm......):

then i chopped up all the veggies while the tofu was cookin': baby corn, pineapple, red and green pepper, onion and tomato:

and there are leftovers.  i'm pretty excited to eat them later.  maybe it'll be dinner for me and amber when she comes over to watch the oscars!
